Trivia

  • Professor Farnsworth said they will go one minute to future. It is possibly a reference to 1985 movie Back to the Future
  • The various Statues of Liberty with different animals is a reference to the 1968 movie Planet of the Apes.
  • In the year 10,000, Bender throws three books into the fire:
  • The song playing during the time-travel montage is an adaption of the 1969 hit song "In the Year 2525" by Zager & Evans. Similar to the time in the episode, the song tells tales of later and later centuries and finally concludes with the first verse again and fading out.
  • The year ten million, where robots enslave and/or kill humanity, is a reference to the 1984 movie The Terminator which also features time travel.
  • Hitler says „Betrachten Sie meinen Schnurrbart“, which translates to “Look at my mustache.”
  • When Farnsworth attempts to kill Hitler a second time ad misses refrences the time paradox legend about killing Hitler
  • When homing in on the destination time, the following episodes are referenced:
  • Farnsworth said that they fixed the time travel paradox when the crew finally stopped and killed their latter forms. However, they no longer exist in the first universe and the second universe could have went and travelled to the future. If this is still true, then the crew of the third universe should go forward, but do not. Then, the crew of the fifth universe (if such a universe exists) cannot be killed, creating another paradox in that they're meant to be killed by the crew of the third universe.
  • For consistency, If you slow down the first attempt at time-travel by Fry, Bender, And Professor Farnsworth, you can see the back of the 75 year-old Leela's head; but you'd never be able to see it if you didn't slow it down, so as not to ruin the story.
