This page documents an official Futurama Wiki policy. It is a widely accepted standard that should normally be followed by all editors. Discuss potential changes on the talk page first, unless the edit is minor.

Vandalism is an addition, deletion, or change to content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the wiki's integrity. The most common types of vandalism are replacing text with obscenities, blanking pages, or adding nonsense.

BlockingEdit

If users vandalize twice, they will be blocked for a time between 3 days and 1 month, depending on the severity of the vandalism. If they continue to vandalize, then they will be blocked for a period of up to 1 year, and even after that, infinitely.

Types of VandalismEdit

• Spam: The placing of links to Non Futurama related websites.
• Blanking: The blanking of a page.
• Replacement: Replacing a page with random nonsense.
• Speculation: Inserting false information on articles. Everything needs to be sourced.
• Nonsense: Random strings of letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Misuse of Template: Randomly placing templates on pages for no reason.
• Unrelated Content: Content not related to Futurama.
• Profanity: Use of inappropriate language.
• Foriegn Languages: Placing of foreign languages on articles for no apparent reason.
• Threats: Making threats to people, users, or this Wiki.
• Misuse of Signature: Randomly placing a signature on a non-talk page.
• Promoting Sales: Promoting sales for products, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, weapons etc.
• Boyocotting Sales: Boycotting the sales for what is said above or this Wiki.
• Category Misuse: Placing articles into wrong categories.
• Defaultsort Misuse: Placing a false name into a defaultsort or randomly using it.

How to deal with vandalism Edit

Normal Users Edit

If you notice someone vandalize a page, firstly remove the vandalism. We do not want readers finding a vandalized article, especially if it uses swear words as there are young readers out there. Then, notify an administrator. Alternatively, you can report it. There is a link at the bottom of each article. explain the problem there.

Rollback and Admins Edit

Administrators and users with rollback are allowed to place the vandalism template on the user talk page of the vandal. To do this, type {{subst:Vandalism|Article name}}

If you have rollback and you notice a user vandalize after receiving a warning, please notify an administrator and they will deal with it from there.
