The Sewer is the home to many of New New York's mutants. It is a damp, dark place like one would expect. There are several small towns and a giant toilet that leads to the Sub-sewers. The Planet Express crew has visited on numerous occasions.

- The Sewers could be inspired by the movie Demolition Man. Both the sewers of Futurama and Demolition man are seen as a lawless society built out of junk and scrap parts, the people are seen as criminals and are not allowed on the surface, and people eat pests like rats. Both versions of the sewer dwellers also have a similar outcome with a rebellion against those on the surface, ending in them being allowed to legally inhabit the surface again.
