David Samuel Cohen, B.A., M.S. (born July 13, 1966), better known as David X. Cohen (formerly David S. Cohen), is an American writer. He is the head writer and executive producer of Futurama. He helped to develop the series with Matt Groening. Both of his parents are biologists, which helped him write such episodes as "The Deep South".
He is also a capable video game programmer, and in the 1980s he created an Apple II video game, Zoid, of which he is quite proud. This inspired the name of Planet Express' doctor Zoidberg.
