As The Wormhole Turns is the thirty-first issue of the Futurama series of comic books.
The Plot
Act I
Turanga Leela takes Nibbler to see the vet, who discovers he has worms. Due to his species ability to secrete Dark Matter Fuel the worms adapt the ability to create wormholes, the vet gives him pills to help control and eliminate the worms. However Professor Farnsworth and Hermes Conrad realize they can walk through the wormholes to other Planets - saving Planet Express money on Starship Fuel, so they replace Nibbler's pills with mints.
Soon the wormholes begin attracting tourists and illegal immigrants, so in an action to prevent this Richard Nixon's Head puts Zoidberg in charge of interplanetary immigration, the new registration process results in large lines so Zoidberg and Bender begin to accept bribes.
Act II
People begin to protest about the immigrants until Bender shows off the supermodels who have immigrated to Earth from other planets. and alien species named the Tauronians start to conquer Earth, so Fry and Leela convince the Omicronians along with several other alien species to invade Earth, the fighting turns the planet into and Ash Planet which they hope the invaders have no interest in. Instead they decide there is nothing wrong with an Ash Planet. All the immigrants leave Earth because they have no desire to live on an Ash Planet. Hermes produces forms in which any invading force need to complete in order to begin an invasion on the promise that they will be contacted as soon as the the forms have been processed. (Thanks to the workload of the Central Bureaucracy this will take around 600 years).
